Possibly the coolest eyeliner EVER!!!

UPDATE!

Sadly I am no longer impressed with this eyeliner. It was great at first and super easy to use but it dried out suuuuper fast! I even made sure to keep it standing on the side it recommends but the application is really inconsistant and spotty. It doesn't do well on powder shadows now it just picks up the color and it gets stuck on the felt tip.

So with that said, I promise I will use the products I review for much longer before I write reviews!!

So I have been using gel eyeliners for years now and have completely been hooked because of their precision, versatility and their staying power. Like I've mentioned before I have very oily skin which means very oily eye area as well, which is why I don't really use pencil liner.

Anyways, so I've seen a few reviews on the NYX Felt Tip Liner and kept meaning to try it but I would either forget to buy it or I couldn't find it. But I tried it today and I AM IN LOVE!!! It is suuuuper easy to use, basically like using a Sharpie marker. It dried immediately and has a very rich black color. This was great for quick application and would be a great alternative to gel liner for the mess factor as well.

I highly recommend trying this product out if you have a hard time using liquid eyeliner too because this is really precise and dries fast.

I do however feel like it may be hard to take off tonight but I will report back on that.

Best part too is that I found it for $8.00!!!

Check it out!

My Current "Go To" Mineral Powder

Like many women I am constantly looking for the the best everything, especially when it comes to beauty products. Lets start with the most basic... Powder!

I have very oily skin so I am always trying to find a great mattifying powder. My very first foundation powder was like for many women MAC Studio Fix. While this is a great full coverage make up, it was causing me to break out and always felt like I was wearing a mask. So from there I moved on to try various mineral make ups including Bare Minerals, Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, and Make Up Forever in their various mattifying formulas. After much trial and error I went back and forth between loose powder, which I don't mind but it isn't very portable, and pressed powder, which is much easier to apply and travels better, but I feel like I get less product.

So after deciding to go with pressed powder, one day I was browsing through Ulta, with the original plan grabbing my then favorite Laura Mercier, not realizing they do not carry that brand there. One of the sales associates recommended "pur". I'd never heard of the brand but liked what I saw and decided to give it a try.

Pros: Great Medium coverage, easy to apply pressed powder, SPF 15, good selection of colors, reasonably priced $26.

Cons: Smaller amount of product than brands like Laura Mercier. Only sold at Ulta in my area (I prefer Sephora).

So far this is my favorite it does pretty well with oil control but it definitely isn't a miracle worker. The formula is silky and goes on the skin really well.

So I've decided to start a blog to talk about various beauty products and my experiences and reviews of them from the point of view of a mixed race woman. I've found that most beauty magazines and such are geared towards mainly Caucasian women and the reviews and how-to's just won't work for people with coarser hair or more oily skin. So with that said I plan on providing my perspective from the point of view of a half white half black beauty product ADDICT!
